That 70s Show.

Dammit I need a time machine.

I have a belly full of wine and recent memories of French films.

Tomorrow I wake up early, pack, endure a long day and fly home for the weekend, which will also be long.
My left hand's backside is covered in pealing blue paint. It matches the shirt I wear to bed.
I locked myself out in my sleep again last night.

I'm glad this weekend is here, now.
I need a break from these people and places and things.

But I must say, I really do love art school.

This summer I think I'll take a few community college classes at Edmonds. At the very least math so I can transfer the credit and instead take a semester of Intro to Painting with Julie Puma (Ms. Frizzle).

Last week I was bending and folding under stress, but now I'm peachy as pie.
I have several papers to rewrite, though.

My art history teacher should be emailing me resources about the Mesoamericans sometime within the weekend.
I'm flirting with attending a university after I graduate to major in Anthropology or Art History or Literature, just for shits and giggles.

Well, goodnight for now.

P.S. Look up "Painting Elephant" on the internet. It's wonderful.

So 3 hours of sleep the night before and enacting a slightly illegal puffy plan really helps one sleep well.

I have no money for food and a waning supply of pasta. It's actually a bit exciting, I cannot lie.
I have a day of drawing ahead of me and my disposition has gone from intimidated to excited or something in a matter of minutes.

I've been listening to a great deal of Simon and Garfunkel lately. I've reconnected to Bookends and Bridge Over Troubled Water this morning, though lately Wednesday Morning, 3 AM has definitely been my favorite.
Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream has to be the world's best antiwar song, or at least the 1960's.

Last night was first friday which means free galleries at the rhino district!
It's way closer than I thought, too. The two galleries we found weren't really...my thing though. The first was sculpture and a painting using primarily concrete and was the generic "What the fuck?" modern art. Buddha heads with pipes sticking out were the most sensical out of the portfolio displayed. Even that, though, if just jumping on the 60s-80s-fusion revival bandwagon.
The second and last gallery we to which we visited smelled like pot and piss. We were given the vibe that it was owned by a bunch of seemingly homeless kids who thought they were indie or scene, bought a studio, and basically turned it into a prototypical urban outfitters complete with random, probably second hand or scavenged posters and packaging for 80s toys, a million vintage couches I was tempted to steal, and a bunch of shitty drawings that were intentionally stylized to look like a moderately morbid kindergarten class drew them.
Or, in other words, Of Montreal album art.
Fuck you, Juxtapoz.
Well it's definitely time to get back to work.

P.S.
Obsessions for the day!
These include symbolist painters,Vienna Secessionists, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, & Yoshitaka Amano.
Look them up.
Do it now!

I woke up late and missed the bus.

Everybody was calling each other and worried.
The thing we're doing today is enough points to turn an A into a C or something.
Luckily somebody's coming back for her stuff anyway...

I want to die. This is the second time this week.

First I woke up at 5:40 and played age of empires for a while and then just listened to music and ate brunch exactly eight hours later with the help of somebody else scanning her card twice, once for me seeing as I'm out by Saturday almost always.

I had planned on errand running with a few people, and they took me to Wal-Mart.
Needless to say I felt dirty.
They didn't even carry paper bags (I forgot my three different reusable ones...). I was fucking pissed.

Then we got back and watched Planet Earth in my room for a while until some of us spur of the moment decided to go see Minus he Bear (a band from Seattle...).
We needed to show ID to get in due to an open bar, I had my school ID with no birthday and the guy assumed I was 21 because of the beard.
Fuck yeah. Except I had to money for beer.

The opening bands, The Themes and The Annuals were super good.
Holy fuck it was an amazing show.

In other news I keep trying to access the graphic design and illustration pages on the school website so I can plan course loads with the minimal amount of summer quarter/ staying an extra year, though the school pages has been under construction since orientation.

The aftertaste of wine and cheese is still on my tongue from my midnight diner last night.

EDIT: In googling "RMCAD/ Illustration" and "RMCAD/ Graphic Design" I found out that only the home page has been under construction. I looked through the course requirements, and there are only 24 classes that don't overlap, and they are basically the last 24 you take. And so I might just do summer quarters my junior and senior years, which wouldn't be too bad. Maybe sophomore, too...
I just really want to graduate in four years. One because I want to learn as much as I can and and second reason, as dumb as it sounds, I wouldn't want to watch my friends graduate and then go back in the fall.

So as time goes on, I am becoming convinced that I want to double-major again, after a month of decidedly not wanting to.

I suppose the only thing keeping me fro doing so is the time it would take...
But it's gotten to the point that I'm positive I would regret not doing so four years from now, so I might do it after all.
And summer semester would make sense, but I might also go home and do english or anthropology at Edmonds Community College just for fun while taking studio art classes for all of my electives so every fall I'll return not just in shape, but also better than I left hopefully.
I still have time to decide, because at the end of the year all freshmen meet with a counselor to make sure they are in the major they want.

So before I left, Leif Robert Warren being the asshole he is complained about my views on the legalization and usage of marijuana, and he claimed that it's "not respecting the governments of past and present."

And so I had a beauteous plan for revenge in which I take a picture of a pipe and tag him as the bowl on face book, and so I did, but apparently his fucking mom has one and checked it and thought it was a glass penis (what the FUCK?), and apparently she told his dad in fury.

And so I told him that it was a pipe, not a penis, and that it was only a joke because I knew he could handle it without taking it personally.
He agreed and the whole thing has blown over assuming his mom doesn't talk to mine at a concert.

Despite the heinously overpriced nature of the Regency (The student housing we share with the community college, Metro state's assholes and some other school), It's so much fun living on the third floor of the North Wing, with all of the other RMCAD kids.

At dinner, we have a tendency to fill up a table, and then start adding more until we have five or six tables stringed in a line and we're all yelling excitedly across them.

The other end of the hall sometime a few weeks ago had the genius idea of getting two extremely long plastic pipes and taping two squishy balls to them and jousting in the hall on skateboards.

Our end decided that in comparison to the sporting events and various dank smells, that we are a lot more boring.
So we are in the midst of planning the construction of a giant cardboard castle at our end that may never be built, though soon we'll go rummaging through the trash rooms of every floor.

In addition, we are planning a quiditch team to play in the second basketball court whenever the metro assholes are playing in the other one.

I'd love to write more, but I have an assload of homework to finish by the time I go to bed and in several hours will have to leave for classes.

P.S. On Saturday, two other people and I while watching Saturday morning cartoons decided that we all love a respective computer game and so we spent the next four or five hours showering, dressing, looking for a best buy near us, realizing that we all have Macbooks and that we'd have to go to the apple store, finding on on google & writing down the directions, going there, which ended up being a residential area with a gas station and three elementry schools, going back, eating lunch, riding the bus to a mall downtown, buying them, stopping at whole foods and then going home. I bought Age of Empires. The third one.

Several days before, I also ordered a still-new copy of Final Fantasy IX, and it came yesterday! Now all I need is my psone, controller, memory cards, and the various cables it requires. Damn.

Every city looks the same by street-lamplight. the McDonalds I haven't touched in years, the bushes and the streets.

It was strange, on my way home from the lab. I wasn't in Denver or Lakewood Colorado, but back home in Shoreline and Kenmore, Edmonds and Lynnwood.
I was on my way home from my cousin's concert, from dinner in Seattle, from a childhood friend's house and home from the grocery store.

To my door, my room, my bed.
This last part it true, but wouldn't have been a month ago.

It's all so weird.
